Andrew Nicholson PhotoWomen's Varsity Volleyball Announcement

The 2016-17 season for the Panther Women's Volleyball program promises to be a year of change and tremendous growth as we introduce, not only a new coaching staff but a youthful and exciting roster!

With the introduction of Coach Andrew Nicholson and his new Assistant: Tessa Alyman, we will see an evolution in the way the team approaches the game. After an impressive 17-3 record last season; Nicholson was faced with a roster that would only include 3 returning players in 2016-17. So he and Tessa went about developing a new offence & a new defense that better suits the athleticism of their young group. The program promises to impress Canadore students, faculty and North Bay volleyball fans that come to be a part of one of our home games. Coach Nicholson is extremely excited to integrate his prize recruits: Jess Venhuizen, Emma Horne, Emily Coster & North Bay's own: Kaitlyn Jackson, Dom Godin with quality returnees like new Captain: Riley Watson, Morgan McDonnell and Cassie Rivard.

Nicholson says: "our mandate will be to be very active in the Volleyball community of North Bay. We invite all Elementary, High School & Club programs to request a visit by our players for a clinic; bring your senior Club players to our practices or just join us for one of our home matches."  Along with the other Varsity programs at Canadore, we are launching "Panther Tripe Play Saturday". Four times this season, our fans can catch the Women's & Men's Volleyball teams play at 1 & 3 pm respectively. Then stay around and catch our Men's Varsity Basketball team compete at 6pm.

The Panther Women's Volleyball program looks forward to having our fellow students and the North Bay Volleyball community, join us on our path towards an OCAA Championship berth.
