Bursaries List

Online Bursary Application

Use your student number and date of birth as your password.
Year ---- Month -- Day -- in that order.

Applications open every year on October 1 and close on October 31. Selected recipients will be notified by email in November and March.

Online Bursaries  are awarded on the basis of financial need and/or satisfactory academic progress. To be considered for a bursary, eligible students must submit a detailed “Online Bursary Application”. Students awarded a bursary will receive an email by the end of November. Discretionary Bursary
is available to students in need of emergency funding. This bursary application may be submitted at any time throughout the academic year. To apply, please visit the Financial Aid Office (Room C204).


Emergency Loans
are available from the Financial Aid Office on a short-term basis only. These loans are distributed to students who are waiting for funding to come in, ie. OSAP. All loans are fully repayable. Loan applications may be submitted at any time throughout the academic year. A $10.00 service charge applies. For more information, please visit the Financial Aid Office, room C204.

Financial Aid Bursaries

 

Indigenous Student Bursary  – “Niigaan Naabin”/”Neegan Iitapinaniwak” Bursary.  The government of Ontario has allocated funding for students, who have aboriginal identity and/or heritage.  These indigenous students must be enrolled at Canadore College, must be in financial need and must be a resident of Ontario.  Student must also have a G.P.A. of 2.0 or better.  Please read this following sheet  Information on Looking Forward and complete the attached application and submit to the Financial Aid Office (Room C204).

Ontario First Generation Bursary -  
The government of Ontario has allocated funding to create a bursary fund for First Generation students through the Ministry’s Access and Opportunities Strategy.  This bursary is for students in their first program.  Students must be a resident of Ontario, must be in financial need and enrolled at Canadore pursuing post-secondary education or training opportunities including apprenticeship programs.  Student must also have a G.P.A. of 2.0 or better.  To apply, complete this application and submit to the Financial Aid Office (Room C204).

First Peoples' Centre Bursaries

Dorothy Coffman Memorial
To recognize an Aboriginal student who demonstrates academic progress, compassion, humour, creativity, and service to the college. Student will be selected by the counsellors in the First Peoples’ Centre (currently Roger Chum and Liz Dowdall).

Metis Nation of Ontario Bursary
Completed applications must be printed and brought to room C214 at the College Drive Campus.
