Alumni Spotlight: Sukhjinder Singh Rattan
May 21, 2026 | Canadore College Alumni
For Sukhjinder Singh Rattan (Sukha), success has been built through persistence, education, and a clear vision for the future. Originally from Ludhiana, Punjab, India, he moved to Canada at the age of 17 with a strong desire to grow, challenge himself, and create opportunities through hard work.
After completing studies in Business Management and gaining experience working across a variety of industries, Sukhjinder launched his first business in 2014. Still, he knew there was another path he wanted to pursue. Drawn to the idea of building communities and shaping spaces where families create lasting memories, he enrolled in the Building Construction Technology program at Canadore College, graduating in 2025.
“My goal was to learn everything I could about the construction and building industry.”
While attending Canadore, Sukhjinder continued working full-time while saving and planning for his future in the construction industry. His determination led him to complete the certifications required to become a Licensed Builder, as well as the steps needed to become a Registered Builder with Tarion.
In 2025, he officially registered Eagle Stone Builders and broke ground on his first construction project — a milestone that marked the beginning of a new chapter in his career.
“That first project taught me so much — how to better lead, negotiate, solve problems, and expand my vision,” he explained. “I want to build not just structures, but legacies.”
With his first project nearing completion, Sukhjinder is focused on growing Eagle Stone Builders with an emphasis on quality craftsmanship, energy-efficient construction, and passion in every home the company creates.
“To me, a home is for the family — not just for a few years. It’s where memories are made for generations to come,” he said.
Outside of his professional accomplishments, Sukhjinder says one of the greatest blessings in his life has been finding the love of his life and getting married.
Looking back on his journey so far, he encourages current students and recent graduates to stay committed to their goals, even when challenges arise.
“Stay focused on your goal, every day is an opportunity to learn, gain experience, and build yourself toward your ultimate goal.”
