Join us virtually on Thursday, May 21, 2026, for our annual SoTL Symposium!

This year’s theme, More than Marks: Understanding Student Learning through SoTL, explores the many ways faculty, teaching and learning support staff, and educational researchers are working to better understand and enhance student learning. Grounded in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, the symposium provides an engaging platform to showcase the strategies, reflective practices, and inquiry-driven approaches educators are using to create meaningful learning experiences across disciplines.

This event is designed to foster connection and collaboration. Accordingly, the symposium invites participants to share their work, exchange ideas, and explore how teaching practices can be refined to support student growth, engagement, and success.

📢 Call for Proposals

Canadore College is pleased to announce the call for proposals for the 2026 SoTL Symposium. Developed and organized by the Centre of Academic Excellence and Lifelong Learning (CAELL), this symposium aims to highlight innovative SoTL projects and foster knowledge sharing amongst faculty and researchers. The 2026 SoTL Symposium will occur on May 21, 2026, via Microsoft Teams.

We invite Canadian college and university faculty, as well as teaching and learning support staff, to submit proposals for presentations and workshops.

This year’s theme is More Than Marks: Understanding student learning through SoTL. We are seeking proposals that align with this theme by highlighting research and practices that deepen our understanding of student learning, explore meaningful approaches to assessment and evaluation, and examine how SoTL can inform and improve educational practice.

  • Classroom research on teaching strategies and student learning
  • Reflective practice and evidence-informed teaching
  • Exploring student growth through qualitative and mixed-methods inquiry
