Intergenerational Learning for Kids and Seniors:  Embracing the social, mental, and physical health of seniors

Embrace this unique, innovative, intergenerational learning opportunity that brings seniors together with children, to learn from each other about a variety of different topics designed to enhance the overall social connectedness and wellbeing of seniors.

Academic Upgrading - This flexible training is tailored to suit your educational and/or employment goals. You can attend these programs on a full- or part-time basis to suit your busy schedule.

Personal Support Worker - This one-year certificate program trains students to offer personal care and home management services to clients in community or institutional settings.

Practical Nursing - The lab is equipped with interactive mannequins that speak and replicate real symptoms, on which students act out common medical emergencies.

Non-violent Crisis Intervention

Non-violent crisis intervention training emphasizes early intervention and non-physical methods for preventing or managing disruptive behaviour.

safeTALK is a three-hour training program that prepares helpers to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources. Most people with thoughts of suicide, either directly or indirectly, invite help to stay safe. Alert helpers know how to identify and work with these opportunities to help protect life. Powerful videos illustrate both non-alert and alert responses. Discussion and practice stimulates learning.
