Learn the latest installation methods along with the best practices and workplace safety relevant in today's construction industry. 

Carpentry Skills is a pre-apprenticeship program that is FREE for qualified participants. 

What You Will Learn

  • Mathematics for the Trades
  • Safety Training (2 weeks)
  • Pre-Carpentry
  • Secondary Trade Exposure - Electrical Techniques 
  • Work Placement (8 weeks)

Who Can Apply?

The pre-apprenticeship program is geared specifically to individuals with a minimum Grade 10 or equivalent. Anyone with an interest in the carpentry or construction field can apply.

There is a skilled worker shortage and General Carpenters are in high demand.

Feature Opportunities

Upon completion of the program, students may pursue:

  • Additional training to obtain grade 12 equivalency and further apprenticeship training 
  • Employment in a variety of commercial and residential construction fields
