Gas Technician 2 Program
Overview
Canadore College is pleased to offer the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) accredited Gas Technician 2 (G.2) training program. As a licensed G.2 technician, you can work independently in the gas service industry. G.2 technicians perform a variety of tasks including the installation, service and maintenance for various types of equipment (residential, commercial and/or industrial) that operate on gaseous fuels, fuel oil and compressed gas.
Canadore College offers the G.2 program as a hybrid delivery with the theoretical portion of the program offered through distance learning (online) and the hands-on practical training delivered on campus, in-person in our fully-equipped training lab affording students the opportunity to maintain a full-time job while completing the program!
In order to attain certification, TSSA requires candidates to:
1. Maintain 80% attendance during the program
2. Score over 75% on the practical components and modules within the training program
3. Score greater than 75% on the TSSA Ontario Certificate of Qualification examination
Note: Students are responsible for purchasing their textbooks and for their own personal protective equipment (steel-toe boots, safety glasses, work gloves)
