Proud to serve those who serve.
Canadore’s Military-Connected College supports Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members, Veterans, military families, Reservists, and Department of National Defence (DND) public servants with clear pathways, recognition of prior learning, flexible study options, and dedicated wrap-around support — right here in North Bay.
Modeled on the Military-Connected College framework adopted by Ontario peers, Canadore’s approach is designed to meet the unique needs of military-connected learners from first contact through to career.

Community Connections – Local Legions and The Village
Canadore actively connects members of local Royal Canadian Legions to college resources and opportunities. This includes access to The Village, Canadore’s innovative, intergenerational living and learning hub that integrates health, wellness, social, and educational services on one site. The Village brings students, older adults, Indigenous partners, and community organizations together under one roof, creating a vibrant environment for intergenerational learning, volunteerism, and hands-on training. Military-connected students and Legion members can participate in programs, events, and placements at The Village, strengthening community ties and supporting lifelong learning.
Whether arriving on posting or returning to study, Canadore’s Housing team and trusted local partners can help you explore practical options such as short-term stays or family-friendly accommodations. We also connect students with MFRC newcomer resources in North Bay for additional relocation support.
Canadore works closely with 22 Wing/CFB North Bay to ensure families have access to quality child care. Military-connected learners can take advantage of our partner daycare, Lindsay Weld Child Care Centre (1351 Chapais Street) with “Snow Days” Child Care. When buses are cancelled and schools are open, “Snow Days” Child Care offers priority access for 22 Wing members and age-appropriate programming.
Military-connected students enroll across many fields, but there is strong interest in:
- Cybersecurity & Technology
- Construction & Skilled Trades
- Public Safety & Justice
- Health Programs
- Business & Leadership
These align with skills gained during military service — technical expertise, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving — which often transfer directly into civilian careers. Canadore also offers pathways in emerging fields like aviation, community services, and advanced technology, where military-connected learners bring valuable perspectives.
In addition to current offerings, Canadore is preparing to launch an Operations Leadership Diploma (expected Fall 2026). This fully on-line, part-time diploma is designed to support CAF personnel obtain a post-secondary credential. It builds on the leadership, planning and operational skills developed through military service and is prior-learning assessment friendly.

About the Ontario Military-Connected Colleges Movement
Ontario colleges have formalized support for military-connected learners through an alliance that streamlines access, credit transfer, and pathways. Fanshawe College launched the country’s first MCC model, with active members including Georgian, Humber, Lambton, and Loyalist. Canadore’s Military-Connected College aligns with this model, ensuring consistent, dedicated support for those who serve.
