ICAMP operates on a flexible service model, ranging from a basic fee structure for use of our facility/equipment up to complete project management of multi-year applied research ventures. Our team of professionals has completed over 700+ projects for our industry clients, and will work with you to ensure that any project we undertake will meet the needs of your company.


Technical Services

ICAMP technical services are available weekdays during regular business hours, and evenings and weekends on special appointment. Our team provides services in-house at our facility with mobile services available for some capabilities. Technical services offered by ICAMP include:

  • Product design
  • Rapid prototype development
  • Reverse engineering
  • 3D printing in both  metal and plastic
  • Material and product testing
  • Machining/cutting

Introduction to Surface Diamond Driller

Program Summary: 

The Introduction to Surface Diamond Driller program is designed to give students a foundational understanding of the industry, including the types of equipment used in the field and basic operational procedures.

Program Highlights:

  • Gain essential knowledge of Drilling practices.
  • Learn how to properly use and maintain field equipment.
  • Understand the role of a helper and the tools of the trade.
  • Be prepared to pursue employment opportunities in the Drilling industry.
  • Hands-On Experience. 

Throughout the program, students will observe and interact with drilling equipment in a field setting. This practical exposure will help students:

  • Operate various pieces of equipment.
  • Conduct thorough inspections.
  • Apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.
  • Gain meaningful employment with a mining company.

This program meets both the Ontario Common Core (770200) and National Occupation Standards

  • Program Length: 10 days (including 3.5 days of in field training); 8 am to 6:30 pm each day
  • Credentials earned: Canadore College Certificate and a MiHR Certificate
  • Cost per student: $5500 includes all fees and course materials
  • Maximum Enrollment: 10  
  • Group Rate: For inquiries regarding group rate pricing for more than 5, please contact Brad Gavan, Director at ICAMP.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: You must bring the following PPE to participate in the field portion of the training. Failure to do so will result in an incomplete status for the program, as you will not be able to attend the field portion of the training.
    • Steel-toe boots (minimum 6” high from the ankle)
    • Class 2 Level 2 safety vest or jacket (high-visibility orange or lime green)
    • Hard hat
    • Safety glasses
    • Gloves

Students will receive - Canadore College & MiHR Certificates – Meeting Ontario Common Core (770200) and National Standard

With sign off on the five mandatory modules required to work in the drilling industry in Ontario. These modules are:

  • U0669: Follow Surface Diamond Drill Induction Procedures
  • U0652: Work Safely in a Surface Diamond Drilling Environment
  • U0653: Operate Hand and Power Tools
  • U0668: Protect the Natural Environment
  • U0670: Perform General Lock Out and Tag on Prime Movers and Other Related Equipment

Each student will receive a Common Core booklet, they’ll receive a trainer’s signature and date confirming they’ve completed the training. However, final signing authority comes from the hiring company.

Facility Rental

All of ICAMPs facilities are available to rent by the public. Facilities for rent include:

  • Boardroom

  • Multipurpose Room

  • Creative Room

  • Design Room

  • Flexible Event Space


Research and Development

ICAMP offers full service research and development capabilities, backed by our 13,300 sq. ft. laboratory and in-house shop infrastructure including full capability machining, welding, carpentry, composites fabrication and material testing facilities.

As part of Canadore College - a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council approved applied research organization – ICAMP draws on a deep network of manufacturing experts with experience in industries as varied as mining and mineral exploration, forestry, aerospace, transportation, sporting goods, recreational vehicles and household goods markets.
