Mental Health Support Services
Student Success Services value the important role education plays in personal growth and enhancing your quality of life. Mental Health Navigators are here to support you - academically, socially and personally - with short-term (free), confidential mental health services. We offer support to help you develop skills, attitudes, abilities and insights to meet both academic and life challenges, assist you in overcoming personal challenges that may pose a barrier to your success, and connect you to additional community resources.
On-Campus Health Centre
The Campus Health Services provides students with convenient access to a wide array of medical services including: illness/primary and sexual health, immunizations, first aid and sutures, communicable disease screening, TB testing and disease prevention.
We have a physician, nurse and medical laboratory services on site located right at our College Drive Campus.
On-Campus Dental Clinic
Canadore College’s on-campus dental hygiene clinic is run by Dental Hygiene faculty, staff and students and offers a variety of services to patients including:
- Free dental cleaning for everyone above the age of three
- Smoking cessation
- Full oral examination (hard & soft tissue/teeth & gums)
- and much more!
Student Health Plan Coverage
All full-time students who have paid the extended health plan fee are automatically enrolled in the guard.me Extended Health Plan@Canadore.
Registered full-time students are automatically enrolled in the health plan effective September 1 or January 1, depending on which semester you begin your studies.
If you withdraw from all classes and thereby are no longer a student of Canadore College, the Health Plan will no longer cover you effective immediately upon your withdrawal date.
All International Students at Canadore College - North Bay Campus benefit from inclusion in a health insurance plan with Guard.me, a leading provider of health insurance services to international students. The Health Insurance Plan is mandatory and included as part of international students’ ancillary fees.
