Canadian Shield Health Care Services provides students with convenient access to a wide array of medical services including illness/primary and sexual health, immunizations, first aid, communicable disease screening, TB testing and disease prevention.
We anticipate additional services – such as laboratory (bloodwork & urinalysis) – to be provided as needs are identified. -
To meet the growing needs of the campus, we have multiple physicians, nurses, mental health clinicians, and a kinesiologist regularly scheduled on-campus. These services are provided within The Village – Room V304.
NOTE: This is a OHIP covered and Fee-For-Service model. Ensure your student insurance provides coverage for the services you are requesting.

The Village Clinic provides quality services and health care delivery by a licensed physician and nurses. Some of the services included, but are not limited to:
- Illness
- First Aid
- Injuries
- Sutures
- Injections (incl. Allergy, Depo Provera, B12)

Hepatitis A Vaccine - protects against Hep A which is a strain of virus that causes an infection in the liver
Consider the Hepatitis A vaccine if you answer yes to any of the following:
- Intravenous drug use
- Chronic liver disease, including Hepatitis B & C
- Men who have sex with men
Hepatitis B Vaccine - protects against Hep B which is the most common strain to cause an infection in the liver
Consider the Hepatitis B vaccine if you answer yes to any of the following:
- Multiple sex partners
- Men who have sex with men
- History of sexually transmitted diseases
- Household or sexual contact of chronic carrier or acute case
- Intravenous drug use
- Chronic liver disease, including Hep B & C
- Have had a needlestick injury in a non-health setting
- Awaiting a liver transplant
- Renal dialysis or a disease requiring frequent receipt of blood products
Gardasil Vaccine - protects against up to 9 types of HPV, also known as Human Papillomavirus. These types cause about 90% of cervical cancers and 90% of genital warts

- Cervical Cancer
- Vulvar Cancer
- Vaginal Cancer
- Anal Cancer
- Genital Warts
- Abnormal and pre-cancerous cervical, anal, vulvar and vaginal cells
Prevents in Men
- Anal Cancer
- Genital Warts
- Abnormal and pre-cancerous anal lesions
- Oral Cancer
