Canadore Domestic Student Health Plan: What You Need to Know

All full-time students are automatically enrolled in the Balanced Plan. If you prefer, you can choose one of the other plans listed below:

  • Enhanced Drug Plan
  • Enhanced Extended Health Plan
  • Enhanced Dental Plan

Each option is priced the same, so there is no additional cost to switch your plan.

Important Deadlines - Opt-Out and Plan Selection Periods

September Start Students: September 18-30, 2025

January Start Students: January 27 - February 6, 2026

(Specific dates will be communicated when available)

During these periods, you can:

    • Choose an alternate plan
    • Add dependents
    • Opt-out if you have equivalent coverage.

Who is covered?

  • All full-time students who have paid the extended health plan fee are automatically enrolled in the guard.me Extended Health Plan@Canadore.
  • Coverage starts on September 1 or January 1, depending on your semester start date.
  • If you withdraw from all classes, your coverage ends immediately upon your withdrawal date.​

Domestic Health Plan Updates for 2025-26

Starting Fall 2025, the Domestic Student Health Plan will offer enhanced coverage, including improved prescription, paramedical, vision, and dental benefits—thanks to the recent student referendum.

  • Cost: $261.50 per student/year

  • Opt-Out/Switch Plans: Students with existing coverage can opt out or switch plans during the designated window. Details will be shared before the Fall semester.

All students are automatically enrolled in the Balanced Plan. However, you can switch to other plans during the selection window.
