📢 Call for Proposals
Canadore College is pleased to announce the call for proposals for the 2025 SoTL Symposium. Developed and organized by the Academic Centre of Excellence (ACE), this symposium aims to highlight innovative SoTL projects and foster knowledge sharing amongst faculty and researchers. The 2025 SoTL Symposium will occur on May 29, 2025 via Microsoft Teams.
We invite college and university faculty, as well as teaching and learning support staff, to submit proposals for presentations and workshops.
This year’s theme is The Future of Learning Summit: Artificial Intelligence, Technology, and Assessment. We are seeking proposals that align with this theme, highlighting research and practices focused on improving student achievement, leveraging innovative teaching strategies, and exploring the impact of SoTL on educational practices.
Topics to consider can relate to:
- Harnessing Generative AI for Personalized Learning
- Technology-Enhanced Assessment Practices
- AI and Academic Integrity
- Virtual Reality and Immersive Learning for Skill Development
- The Role of AI in Supporting Students with Disabilities
- Redesigning Courses for Future-Ready Learners
- AI for Faculty Development and Peer Support
- AI-Powered Feedback Systems
- Gamifying Assessments with AI and Adaptive Learning Systems AI
- Emotional Intelligence
- Presentations
Share the results and impact of your completed SoTL project. Discuss your current SoTL research, including methodology, preliminary findings, and expected outcomes.
- Workshops
Engage participants in hands-on activities that demonstrate innovative teaching practices and research methodologies. Facilitate discussions and collaborations among participants to explore SoTL ideas and projects. - Poster Session
Showcase your SoTL research in a dynamic virtual poster presentation. Design a visually engaging poster highlighting your research objectives, methods, findings, and implications. This interactive session will allow for personalized discussions and networking opportunities with fellow researchers in an engaging online format.
Submission Guidelines
Please submit your proposals using the designated Microsoft Form by the deadline. The Microsoft Form will require you to provide a clear and concise overview of your project, including the title and a detailed description. Ensure your proposal outlines the objectives, methodology, significance, expected outcomes, and benefits of your SoTL research. Access the Microsoft Form here.

- Proposal Submission Deadline: March 7th, 2025
- Notification of Proposal Acceptance: April 4th, 2025
- Symposium Date: May 29th, 2025
Please submit your proposals via the Microsoft Form by March 7th, 2025. Submissions will be evaluated by the Reviewers, and applicants will be notified by April 4th, 2025 of their application status.
