The Ontario government’s announcement today of $25 million in emergency funding for post-secondary education is a major investment in student success as the province continues to tackle the COVID-19 outbreak.  Canadore College will receive $684,487.

“Canadore staff continue working hard to support our students and community during a very difficult time,” said Canadore College President George Burton.  “The funding announced today will enable Canadore to continue with on-line supports for students and will help ensure the resources are in place to support their success.”

Colleges and Universities Minister Ross Romano announced today the province has provided emergency funding to colleges, universities and Indigenous institutes to mitigate some of the early costs of addressing the COVID-19 outbreak.

To protect the health and safety of students and employees, Canadore is providing academic instruction on-line.  Plans are being developed for students who will need to return to complete the required practical components of their programs.

“We thank the government and Minister Romano for their commitment to our students and to the successful completion of the students’ programs,” Burton said. “This emergency funding will truly make a difference.”
