    The Resource Centre is your go-to spot for information, tools, and support to help you succeed.

    The Resource Centre provides testing services for students with disabilities who have approved testing accommodations through Student Success Services.

    • If you require Testing Accommodations, you must book your tests/exams at least 5 days in advance through the Resource Centre.
    • Due to high volume and limited resources, the Resource Centre cannot guarantee short-term bookings.

    We encourage you to plan ahead so we can best support your testing needs.

To access the iSucceed portal and complete the student program withdrawal form, you must be logged into your Canadore Microsoft account. The iSucceed portal is integrated with Canadore's single sign-on system, so please ensure you use your Canadore credentials to log in.

All information shared with Student Success Services will not be released without your written consent. Student’s personal information is held in utmost confidence within Student Success Services.

Personal information including medical documentation and psycho-educational assessments are collected in order to understand student needs and determine reasonable disability accommodations and to meet our requirements under the Ontario Human Rights Code. Personal information is maintained and disposed of in a secure manner, in compliance with relevant privacy legislation.

Information provided to Student Success Services is stored separate from a student’s academic record in order to protect a students’ right to privacy. All Student Success Services team members with access to student files maintain strict levels of privacy and confidentiality.

To respect student privacy and encourage independence Student Success Series adheres to the following principles and practices when communicating with students and their supporters: Either in person, by phone, or through email.

Direct Student Communication

As post-secondary students, Canadore learners are responsible for managing their own academic journey and communications with the College.

In accordance with Ontario privacy legislation, Student Success Services communicates directly with students regarding accommodations, academic supports, appointments, documentation, and other confidential matters.

To protect student privacy, Student Success Services does not copy parents, supporters, family members, or other third parties on communications with students.

Students cannot provide blanket permission for Canadore College employees to routinely share personal, academic, accommodation, or disability-related information with parents, supporters, or other third parties.

Student Responsibility

Students are responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of their Canadore College accounts and records.

Students must not permit another individual to access or use their Canadore email account, student portal, iLEARN account, or other College systems on their behalf. Similarly, parents, supporters, and other third parties must not communicate with the College while representing themselves as the student.

Providing false, incomplete, or misleading information, or misrepresenting one's identity, may be addressed through applicable College policies and procedures.

Student Choice

Students own their personal information and may choose to share information received from Student Success Services with parents, supporters, family members, or others at their discretion.

Student Success Services encourages students to involve trusted supporters in their educational journey when appropriate, while recognizing that decisions about sharing personal information belong to the student.

Responding to Parents and Supporters

Student Success Services welcomes general inquiries from parents, supporters, and family members regarding:

  • Registration processes
  • Documentation requirements
  • Available services and supports
  • General accommodation procedures
  • Information published on the Canadore College website

However, Student Success Services cannot discuss or respond to inquiries regarding:

  • A specific student's registration, accommodations, or support needs
  • Accommodation Letters or accommodation implementation
  • Academic performance or progress
  • Appeals, complaints, or accommodation decisions
  • Appointment attendance or participation
  • Any other confidential student matter

In these situations, Student Success Services will communicate directly with the student, even when the initial inquiry is received from a parent, supporter, or other third party.

Information Received from Parents or Supporters

Parents and supporters may occasionally provide information they believe is relevant to a student's success and wellbeing.

Any information or documentation received regarding a student may be added to the student's file and shared directly with the student. Receipt of information from a parent or supporter does not establish ongoing communication with that individual.

Parent and Supporter Concerns

Student Success Services values concerns raised by parents and supporters and recognizes the important role they play in student success.

When concerns are received regarding a student's wellbeing, academic adjustment, or access to supports, Student Success Services may reach out directly to the student to offer assistance and discuss available resources.

While Student Success Services cannot disclose information about a student's circumstances, participation, wellbeing, or academic status, staff may connect students with appropriate supports, including:

  • Accessible Learning Services
  • Mental Health and Wellbeing Services
  • Student Success Advisors
  • Academic Advising
  • Program Coordinators
  • Deans and Academic Leadership
  • Other campus and community resources

Health, Safety, and Exceptional Circumstances

There may be limited circumstances in which Ontario law permits or requires the College to disclose information without a student's consent, including situations involving significant concerns related to health, safety, or risk of harm.

In such circumstances, decisions regarding communication and disclosure will be managed in accordance with applicable legislation, College policies, and established risk assessment procedures.

Where appropriate, disclosures may be coordinated through Student Services, Campus Safety, senior College administrators, or other designated College officials.
