Honours Bachelor of Science - Nursing Degree

In September 2022, Canadore will welcome its first class of Honours Bachelor of Science-Nursing (BScN) degree students. The BScN degree is Canadore’s second degree program and will continue the College’s 30-year tradition of nursing education excellence in North Bay.
The planning for this BScN degree program began in December 2020 when the government of Ontario passed legislation allowing Ontario colleges to offer standalone BScN degree programs. When this occurred, a Canadore BScN degree development team consisting of program area faculty and Academic Centre of Excellence (ACE) project leads quickly mobilized.
Working around the clock, the Canadore BScN degree team developed a quality, student-focused, and contemporary BScN degree program plan. The team submitted its BScN degree program plan to the Ministry of Colleges and University (MCU) and the MCU approved Canadore’s plan in the fall of 2021.
The College looks forward to welcoming its first cohort of BScN degree program students this fall. Many thanks to the Canadore BScN degree team for making a BScN degree program at Canadore a reality.
