Overview

Skilled welders are highly sought after and well paid. Learn the specialized skills of the trade on industry-standard machines in our 4,700 sq. ft. lab. You will learn multiple welding processes at one of the 33 individual welding stations, including shield metal arc welding (SMAW), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), gas metal arc (GMAW) and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), FUSION welding, brazing, and cutting techniques. Skills learned are highly transferable and versatile as welding is used in several trades including electrical and automotive. Graduates will have completed all position welding training and possible Canadian Welding Bureau Certification.

OSSD or equivalent, ENG4C or ENG4U

If English is not your first language you must provide proof of English competency. You must have a minimum overall band score of 5.5 on the Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or equivalent accepted English language proficiency test to be admitted to a postsecondary program at the college. Notwithstanding the above, the English proficiency standards required to obtain Study Permits and Temporary Resident Visas from Canadian Embassies vary around the world. The higher English language proficiency standard will apply.

Student have the option to complete their practical test with the Canadian Welding Bureau to obtain their welding tickets.
