Students who have completed Practical Nursing are be able to Bridge into the Bachelor of Science – Nursing degree. They will have a designated semester of courses specific for practical nursing graduates that will support their entry into the degree program. 


This program will prepare them for a meaningful career in this critical health care profession. Gain the skills, knowledge and leadership necessary to succeed in this relevant career field. Training is student-centred and interprofessional, and professors work with partners in the community to provide students with diverse, real-world experiences. Clinical practice focuses on mental health, acute care, home care, public health, gerontology and maternal and child health. Graduates will be eligible to write the nurse registration examination, and upon successful completion, can apply for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and will be able to practise as nursing professionals in a variety of clinical settings.

Successful completion of a two year Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) diploma with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0

eTexts and eResources at Canadore College

eTexts and eResources are offered for select courses in health care programs as bundled fee*. This option gives you access to high-quality digital resources at about 40%-60% less than the cost of printed textbooks with the added value of bundled simulation, practice text suites and other key resources for your program of study and progression to employment. With eTexts and eResources, you will have the tools you need to complete your program and prepare for your licensing exam where applicable.

Opting Out of the eText and eResource Program

Participation in the eText and eResource bundle is mandatory as it is decided at the program level.

The fee for the TSP bundle will be charged to your student account as part of the semester program fees. The bundle fee is intended to be rolled into your Material Fees at the beginning of each academic year; however, the Administration reserves the right to post it as a separate charge later in the term or each semester. Please monitor your student account for any subsequent billing and direct any questions to the Admissions Office. For the fee structure please click here to view eText/eResource fees.

Upon entry to the program students will have the option of accepting the full package or to opt out of the non-evaluative resources of the package. If you choose to opt out, you will be required to meet with the Program Coordinator to discuss the TSP and sign a declaration prior to 4:00 pm on the first Friday of the first semester of the program/year. After this deadline, access for the entirety of the program is final and non-refundable. Full deployment of the resources will begin shortly after the opt-out window closes.

Honours Bachelor Degree

Learning outcomes represent culminating demonstrations of learning and achievement. In addition, learning outcomes are interrelated and cannot be viewed in isolation of one another. As such, they should be viewed as a comprehensive whole. They describe performances that demonstrate that significant integrated learning by graduates of the program has been achieved.
