This program trains students to offer personal care and home management services to clients in community or institutional settings. Personal support workers provide services to clients with physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioural challenges. Learn hands-on in the classroom, on community placements and in the home environment simulation lab equipped with high-end fidelity audio/visual equipment and interactive mannequins. PSWs are highly sought after as health care providers, working collaboratively as part of the health care team or in a supported independent living environment.

Opting Out of the eText and eResource Program
Participation in the eText and eResource bundle is mandatory as it is decided at the program level.
In specific circumstances eText exemptions can occur. To receive an exemption, students must meet the following criteria:
- The hard copy resource is the same resource and edition as the provided eText.
- The hard copy resource must be obtained in a way that is compliant with our Fair Dealing and Copyright guidelines
- eText and eResouces are for the sole use of the purchaser. For further clarity, downloading and distributing of eText and eResources is considered piracy and can be subject to legal repercussion.
Please note: if the eText has an accompanying eResource (such as SherPath, Shadow Health Virtual Simulations. HESI Case Studies, Elsevier Adaptive Quizzing, HESI Exams, etc..), there will be a non-refundable portion of the eResource fee to ensure continued access to the eResource.
The eText fee exemption deadline is:
- By the 10th day of the applicable semester of study - see important dates and deadlines.
