The program is designed to collect information from both parties, and make a preliminary match based on preferences and living habits. With this program, landlords can rent out spare rooms in their home and generate income while also providing a valuable service to students in need of housing.

Listing your rental
For off campus housing Canadore College is partnered with Places4Students. Places4Students hosts a real-time database that showcases diverse housing options student housing vacancies in the area, complete with detailed photos, descriptive text, contact information, and property features.
- Have interview questions to learn more about the applicant and their suitability as a renter tenant
- You cannot ask questions that interfere with rights under the Ontario Human Rights Code. Questions about age, disability, place of origin, religions, sexual orientation, gender expression, etc. are not allowed
- Have expectations that the applicant would understand beforehand to make sure they are a good fit
- Meet the student via video chat or in-person
- Be careful of scams
- Use Places4Students.com to list, ask students to communicate through their student email, ask for proof of enrollment letter
