External Awards

External organizations also provide assistance to our students. Students are encouraged to apply for these external awards, scholarships and/or bursaries. Application procedures and deadlines are specific to each one of these awards, so please confirm these details prior to applying.

Anishinabek Student Excellence Awards

Four (4) scholarships in the amount of $2,500.00 each will be awarded to Anishinabek First Nation students at the post-secondary level for academic excellence. Applicant must be a registered full-time student at an accredited post-secondary college or university. Students who are currently enrolled as well as those who have completed studies and are graduating in 2019 are eligible. Applicant must be a registered member of one of the 40 Anishinabek First Nations.

Canadian Hearing Society Scholarships 

The Canadian Hearing Society proudly offers scholarships to Deaf and hard of hearing students to help break down barriers to higher education and build brighter futures.

Scholarships of $3,000 a year for full-time students and $1,000 a year for part-time students are awarded to top qualified candidates who are pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited institution, inside or outside of Canada.

Chaney-Ensign Bursary Fund

The Chaney-Ensign Bursary Fund provides educational bursaries to students who demonstrate serious financial need and who have completed their high school requirements in publicly-funded secondary schools located in the City of Hamilton. Students must be in attendance at an approved college or university in Canada or, for specialized programs, in the United States. If warranted by continuing need and satisfactory progress, the award may be repeated in subsequent years. This bursary fund is generally intended to assist students enrolled in full-time undergraduate studies, although part-time or postgraduate studies may be considered.

Couponbirds "Help to Save" Scholarship

To help students ease their burden in tuition fees, CouponBirds has initiated the “Help to save” scholarship program. In this program, participants are asked to do a little survey, meanwhile write an essay on the elaboration of their viewpoint towards the future of Ecommerce and Coupon sites.

Global Grant Scholarship candidates from Rotary District 7010

Applications are now open for Global Grant Scholarship candidates from Rotary District 7010. The scholarship is worth up to $40,000 USD for a year of study outside of Canada. The goal of the selection process is to recruit highly qualified and deserving candidates. This exclusive scholarship will help fund a student, from the Rotary District 7010 area, to pursue graduate studies (at the Master's level) and service dreams that will have an impact in one or more of Rotary's areas of focus.

Indspire Awards

Indspire disburses bursaries and scholarships through its Building Brighter Futures program to Indigenous students who are enrolled in post-secondary programs. Since 1985, Indspire has disbursed bursaries and scholarships to First Nation, Inuit, and Métis post-secondary students. It is the largest funder for Indigenous education outside of the federal government.

National Educational Association of Disabled Students (NEADS) Financial Aid Portal

The National Educational Association of Disabled Students (NEADS) is pleased to announce the availability of its new financial aid portal for students with disabilities: www.DisabilityAwards.ca.

With the support of the Canada Student Loan Program and the Office for Disability Issues, NEADS has developed a site containing over 300 scholarships, awards and bursaries specifically for post-secondary students with disabilities.

Parts Canada Trans Can Entrance Awards

Awarded to a student entering Canadore College in his or her first year of a Skilled Trades program, who participated in or attended that year’s Parts Canada Trans Can at Walton Raceway. Value $1,000.00
