External organizations also provide assistance to our students. Students are encouraged to apply for these external awards, scholarships and/or bursaries. Application procedures and deadlines are specific to each one of these awards, so please confirm these details prior to applying.

Allied Van Lines Scholarship 2025

Provides (4) $1,000 scholarships to qualified Canadians or Permanent Resident students in the areas of Business, Logistics or similar fields of study. Winners will be informed by email.

David Davis Memorial Bursary

Provides bursaries to students who can demonstrate financial need and who are enrolled in a music program at a college, university or institution in Canada, the US or abroad. Undergraduate and postgraduate students are eligible.

Geritol Follies Bursary

Provides performing arts bursaries to students of voice, drama, dance or musical instruments who are enrolled in a college, university or institution in Canada or the US, who can demonstrate financial need, and who have graduated from a publicly funded secondary school in Hamilton or Burlington. Undergraduate and postgraduate students are eligible.

Hamilton Community Foundation

Various scholarships and bursaries are available through the Hamilton Community Foundation for students who have graduated from a publicly funded post-secondary school in Hamilton or Burlington, including the HCF Student Awards Program, Geritol Follies Bursary, and the David Davis Memorial Bursary. Applications are available through the Hamilton Community Foundation website.

Hellamaid Scholarship

Offers a $500 award each semester to support Canadian students in their academic pursuits. Open to undergraduate or postgraduate students enrolled in accredited Canadian colleges or universities.

Indspire Awards

Indspire disburses bursaries and scholarships through its Building Brighter Futures program to Indigenous students enrolled in post-secondary programs. Since 1985, it has been the largest funder for Indigenous education outside of the federal government.

Presented annually to secondary school or CEGEP graduates who demonstrate excellence and a desire to make change. Award value: $1,000.

National Educational Association of Disabled Students (NEADS) Financial Aid Portal

NEADS, with the support of the Canada Student Loan Program, offers www.DisabilityAwards.ca, a site listing over 300 scholarships, awards, and bursaries for post-secondary students with disabilities.

North Bay Legion Branch 23 Bursary Program

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23 Bursaries Program is designed to assist students entering or continuing post-secondary education at a community college or university level, including courses and programs of a technical, trade or vocational nature outside of the secondary level.

Awarded to a first-year Canadore College student in a Skilled Trades program who participated in or attended that year’s Parts Canada Trans Can at Walton Raceway. Value: $1,000.

Peters Innovation and Development Grant

Created to help students and independent artists in Canada develop creative ideas by supporting access to needed software tools. Award: $250 towards software/licences.
